In short: the game's own code collects nothing about you and sends nothing to us: saves, settings and progress are kept on your device, and only your platform may copy them into your own backup (Android backup in your Google Account, Steam Cloud where available). Achievements work through your platform's service — Google Play Games on Android and, in versions where they are available, Steam and Apple Game Center — which receives your profile on that platform and the achievements you unlock; Google Play Games also receives diagnostic and analytics data about the service. The store handles the purchase.
Who we are
Shadows of the Past is a noir visual novel developed and published by Valmsoft SIA (Latvia, registration number 40203790753, Paula Lejiņa iela 6-108, Rīga, LV-1029). This policy covers the game on every platform it is published on and this website. Privacy questions: support@sotp.suxlv2.space.
The game
The game itself has no accounts, no ads, no analytics of its own and no in-app purchases. It does not ask for your name, email, contacts, location, camera or microphone. Saves, settings, reading progress and unlocked achievements are stored on your device and are not sent to us. If backup is turned on in your Android settings, Android may include them in your device backup in your Google Account; Google handles that backup under the Google Privacy Policy.
Android version from Google Play
- Google Play Games Services. Achievements work through Google Play Games. The Google Play Games Services library in the game sends to Google, over an encrypted connection: your Play Games profile (gamer name and avatar) and player ID; the achievements you unlock in this game; and diagnostic and analytics data about how the service works, which the library collects automatically. Google uses this data to provide Play Games, keep it working and improve the service; how Google handles your Google Account data is described in the Google Privacy Policy and on Google's page about this data. The game uses the data only to show, unlock and restore achievements and does not send it to us or anyone else.
- Purchase. The game is bought through Google Play. We never see your payment details; Google Play handles the payment.
- Downloads and statistics. Game data is delivered by Google Play. Google Play may give developers aggregated statistics about installs and crashes, depending on your device and Google Account settings. These reports do not identify you to us.
Steam, iPhone and iPad, other stores
If the game is released on Steam, achievements there will work through Steam (Valve Corporation), and if Steam Cloud is turned on, Steam will keep a copy of your game data (saves, settings, reading progress and unlocked achievements) in your Steam account. If the game is released for iPhone and iPad, achievements there will work through Apple Game Center. These services receive your account on the platform and the achievements you unlock in this game, and handle that data under their own privacy policies: Valve, Apple. The purchase is handled by the store. The game uses this data only to show, unlock and restore achievements, and does not send it to us.
If you play a version distributed through another store, the purchase, and achievements or cloud saves if that store offers them, are handled by that store under its own privacy policy. The game itself does not send this data to us or anywhere else.
This website
This website (sotp.suxlv2.space) sets no cookies of its own, has no analytics or advertising, and it loads nothing from other sites. On the home page, a small script from this website opens the photos in a full-screen viewer. It loads only its own code and the photos from this site, collects nothing about you and passes nothing to other sites; in your browser it leaves only an entry in the tab's history, so that the Back button closes the viewer. For visitors of the former web version of the game, the site runs a small script one time that removes that version's service worker from the browser. Our server does not keep an access log of the website. Requests to the site pass through Cloudflare, which delivers the site as a content delivery network and protects it from attacks. For that, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the technical details of each request on our behalf, may set a technical cookie needed for that protection and may process the data outside the European Economic Area; ask us for details of the safeguards. Valmsoft SIA is the controller of this processing; our legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering the site securely.
If you write to support, we use your address and message only to reply to you. Incoming mail is forwarded to the developer's mailbox through Cloudflare Email Routing, and replies are sent through Resend; these services handle the messages only to deliver them.
Retention and security
- Data on your device stays there until you delete it.
- Google keeps Play Games data under the Google Privacy Policy; you can delete it as described below.
- Valve and Apple keep Steam and Game Center data, including Steam Cloud copies of your saves, under their own privacy policies; Android device backups are kept by Google.
- Support emails are kept while the conversation needs them and are deleted on request. They are accessible only to the developer and are delivered over encrypted connections where the mail servers support it.
Your rights
Valmsoft SIA (Latvia) is the controller of the support emails you send us; we process them to answer your request (legitimate interest). Cloudflare and Resend, which deliver the mail, and the provider of the developer's mailbox, where it is stored, may process it outside the European Economic Area; ask us for details of the safeguards. Google Play Games data and Android device backups are processed by Google, Steam data by Valve and Game Center data by Apple, as described above. You have the right to access, correct or delete your data and to restrict or object to its processing; write to support@sotp.suxlv2.space. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in Latvia — the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija, dvi.gov.lv).
Deleting your data
Through the game we receive no data about you; the only player data we hold are emails sent to support. Data on your device is removed by uninstalling the game or clearing its data. Google keeps Play Games data under the Google Privacy Policy; you can delete this game's Play Games data in your Play Games profile (Play Games → Profile → Settings → delete your Play Games account and data, or only the data of this game) or through your Google Account (myaccount.google.com, “Data & privacy”). Steam and Game Center data, including Steam Cloud saves, are managed in your Steam account and Apple Account under Valve's and Apple's privacy policies; Android device backups cover the whole device, not only the game, and are managed in your device settings (Backup) or in Google Drive (Storage → Backups). After a reinstall, Android may restore the game's saves from such a backup, and Play Games may restore your achievements. To have your support emails deleted, write to support@sotp.suxlv2.space.
Age
The game is intended for players aged 16 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

If what the game or this website processes changes, this page will be updated before the change ships, at the same address: sotp.suxlv2.space/privacy/.

Игра

Версия для Android из Google Play
- Google Play Игры. Достижения работают через сервис Google Play Игры. Библиотека Google Play Games Services в игре передаёт в Google по зашифрованному соединению: ваш профиль Play Игр (имя игрока и аватар) и идентификатор игрока; открытые в этой игре достижения; диагностические и аналитические данные о работе сервиса, которые библиотека собирает автоматически. Google использует эти данные, чтобы Play Игры работали и чтобы улучшать сервис; как Google обращается с данными аккаунта, описано в политике конфиденциальности Google и на странице Google об этих данных. Игра использует их только для того, чтобы показать, открыть и восстановить достижения, и не передаёт их ни нам, ни кому-либо ещё.
- Покупка. Игра покупается через Google Play. Платёжных данных мы не видим, оплату проводит Google Play.
- Загрузка и статистика. Данные игры доставляет Google Play. Google Play может передавать разработчикам сводную статистику установок и сбоев — в зависимости от настроек вашего устройства и аккаунта Google. По этим отчётам нам не видно, кто вы.
Steam, iPhone и iPad, другие магазины
Если игра выйдет в Steam, достижения там будут работать через Steam (Valve Corporation), а если включён Steam Cloud, Steam будет хранить копию данных игры (сохранений, настроек, прочитанного текста и открытых достижений) в вашем аккаунте Steam. Если игра выйдет на iPhone и iPad, достижения там будут работать через Apple Game Center. Эти сервисы получают ваш аккаунт на платформе и открытые в этой игре достижения и обращаются с этими данными по своим политикам конфиденциальности: Valve, Apple. Покупку проводит магазин. Игра использует эти данные только для того, чтобы показать, открыть и восстановить достижения, и нам их не отправляет.
Если вы играете в версию из другого магазина, покупку, а также достижения и облачные сохранения, если этот магазин их предлагает, обслуживает он сам по своей политике конфиденциальности. Сама игра эти данные не отправляет ни нам, ни куда-либо ещё.
Этот сайт
Этот сайт (sotp.suxlv2.space) сам не ставит cookies, не использует аналитику и рекламу и ничего не загружает с других сайтов. На главной странице небольшой скрипт с этого же сайта открывает снимки в полноэкранном просмотре. Он загружает с этого сайта только свой код и снимки, ничего о вас не собирает и ничего не передаёт другим сайтам; в браузере он оставляет лишь запись в истории вкладки, чтобы кнопка «Назад» закрывала просмотр. У тех, кто заходил в прежнюю web-версию игры, сайт один раз запускает небольшой скрипт, который убирает из браузера её service worker. Наш сервер не ведёт журнал посещений сайта. Запросы к сайту проходят через Cloudflare: он доставляет сайт как сеть доставки контента и защищает его от атак. Для этого Cloudflare по нашему поручению обрабатывает ваш IP-адрес и технические данные каждого запроса, может поставить технический cookie, нужный для этой защиты, и может обрабатывать данные за пределами Европейской экономической зоны; о мерах защиты расскажем по запросу. Оператор этой обработки — Valmsoft SIA; основание — наш законный интерес в безопасной доставке сайта.
Почта
Если вы пишете в поддержку, адрес и письмо используются только для ответа. Входящие письма пересылаются в ящик разработчика через Cloudflare Email Routing, ответы уходят через Resend; эти сервисы обрабатывают письма только для доставки.
Хранение и защита
- Данные на устройстве хранятся там, пока вы их не удалите.
- Данные Play Игр Google хранит по своей политике конфиденциальности; удалить их можно, как описано ниже.
- Данные Steam и Game Center, в том числе копии сохранений в Steam Cloud, Valve и Apple хранят по своим политикам конфиденциальности; резервные копии устройства Android хранит Google.
- Письма в поддержку хранятся, пока нужны для переписки, и удаляются по вашему запросу. Доступ к ним есть только у разработчика; доставляются они по зашифрованным соединениям, где их поддерживают почтовые серверы.
Ваши права
Оператор писем, которые вы присылаете в поддержку, — Valmsoft SIA (Латвия); мы обрабатываем их, чтобы ответить на ваш запрос (законный интерес). Cloudflare и Resend, которые доставляют почту, и почтовый сервис ящика разработчика, где она хранится, могут обрабатывать её за пределами Европейской экономической зоны; о мерах защиты расскажем по запросу. Данные Google Play Игр и резервные копии устройства Android обрабатывает Google, данные Steam — Valve, данные Game Center — Apple, как описано выше. Вы вправе получить доступ к своим данным, исправить или удалить их, ограничить их обработку или возразить против неё — напишите на support@sotp.suxlv2.space. Вы также можете подать жалобу в надзорный орган по защите данных, в Латвии — Государственную инспекцию данных (Datu valsts inspekcija, dvi.gov.lv).
Удаление данных
Через игру мы не получаем о вас никаких данных; у нас есть только письма, которые игроки присылают в поддержку. Данные на устройстве удаляются вместе с игрой или очисткой её данных. Данные Play Игр Google хранит по своей политике конфиденциальности; удалить данные этой игры можно в профиле Play Игр (Play Игры → Профиль → Настройки → удалить аккаунт и данные Play Игр или данные только этой игры) или через аккаунт Google (myaccount.google.com, раздел «Данные и конфиденциальность»). Данными Steam и Game Center, в том числе сохранениями в Steam Cloud, вы управляете в аккаунте Steam и аккаунте Apple по политикам Valve и Apple; резервными копиями устройства Android — в настройках устройства (раздел «Резервное копирование») или в Google Диске (Хранилище → Резервные копии); такая копия охватывает всё устройство, а не только игру. После переустановки Android может восстановить из неё сохранения игры, а Play Игры — ваши достижения. Чтобы удалить ваши письма в поддержку, напишите на support@sotp.suxlv2.space.
Возраст
Игра предназначена для игроков от 16 лет и не адресована детям. Мы сознательно не собираем никаких данных детей.
Изменения
